Is MoyoMatch free?
Yes. Joining, building your profile, swiping, matching and chatting are free. Moyo+ is an optional upgrade with extras such as more rewinds and super likes, paid with M-Pesa.
How do I confirm my email?
We send a link to your email when you join. Tap it and you are done. If it did not arrive, check your spam folder, or tap "Resend" on the banner in the app or in Settings.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in page tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email. We send a link that works for 60 minutes.
I had an account on the old MoyoMatch.
Sign in with the same email address. If your old password does not work, use "Forgot password?" to choose a new one. [CONFIRM against the migration plan.]
How do I change my email address?
Write to us at hello@moyomatch.com from the address on your account and tell us the new one.
Matching and discovery
How does matching work?
Swipe right or tap the heart on people you like. If they like you back, it is a match and you can chat. A like with a note opens the chat with your note.
What are Date, Love and Friends?
Three ways to use MoyoMatch with one profile. Date is for fun dates, Love is for something serious, and Friends is for growing your circle. Switch between them at the top of Discover. Your matches in each mode stay separate.
Why am I not seeing anyone new?
Try a larger distance or age range in Settings, and check your location is up to date. If your profile is paused you can still browse, but new people cannot find you.
What does pausing my profile do?
It hides you from Discover, Likes and Top picks, so new people cannot find you. Your existing matches and chats stay open. Resume any time in Settings.
What is Incognito?
Only people you like can see your profile. Everyone else will not see you in Discover.
How do I get the verified badge?
Open Settings, then Photo verification, and take a selfie copying the pose shown. Our team checks it against your photos, usually within a day.
Chats and safety
How do I unmatch someone?
Open the chat, open the menu at the top and choose Unmatch. The chat disappears for both of you.
How do I block or report someone?
Tap the menu on their profile or in your chat and choose Block or Report. Reporting also blocks them by default. Reports are private, and a real person reviews each one.
Someone asked me for money.
Do not send it, however real the story sounds, and report them. Read our safety tips to spot the usual scams.
Moyo+ and payments
How do I pay for Moyo+?
Choose a plan in the app and enter your M-Pesa number. You get a prompt on your phone; enter your M-Pesa PIN there to pay. Moyo+ starts as soon as the payment is confirmed.
I paid but Moyo+ did not start.
It usually takes a few seconds. If it has not started after a few minutes, email hello@moyomatch.com with your M-Pesa transaction code and we will sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
If you were charged and Moyo+ did not start, we refund you in full to the M-Pesa number you paid from. The details are in section 6 of our Terms of use.
Privacy and your data
Who can see where I am?
Nobody sees your location. Other people see a rounded distance such as "3 km away", and you can hide even that in Settings.
How do I download my data?
Open Settings and tap "Download my data". We email you a link to a zip file within a few minutes. The link works for 7 days.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, tap "Delete account" and confirm with your password. Your profile, photos, matches and messages are deleted straight away.
How do I stop emails?
Turn off "Email notifications" in Settings, or tap "Turn off these emails" at the bottom of any match or message email. Account emails, like password resets, still reach you.
