These guidelines apply everywhere on MoyoMatch: your profile, photos, video, chats, voice notes, moments and stories. They sit alongside our Terms of use.
Be real
- Use recent photos of yourself, where your face is clear. No photos of celebrities, other people, children on their own, or heavy filters that hide who you are.
- Give your real age and say honestly what you are looking for. It saves everyone time.
- One person, one account. Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not share an account.
- You must be 18 or older.
Be kind
- Treat people the way you would want a friend or sibling to be treated.
- No harassment, bullying, threats, insults or repeated messages after someone has stopped replying.
- No hate speech or attacks on anyone because of their tribe, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or where they come from.
- It is fine to not be interested. Unmatch politely or just move on. Do not shame people for their looks, body or choices.
Respect consent
- No nudity or sexual content on your profile, moments or stories.
- Never send sexual messages, photos or voice notes to someone who has not clearly said yes. Stop when someone says no or goes quiet.
- Never share, or threaten to share, someone's intimate images. This is a crime in Kenya, and we report it.
No money, no selling
- Do not ask anyone for money, M-Pesa, airtime, gifts, school fees, rent, "emergency" help or investments, however the story goes.
- No advertising, selling, promotions, pyramid or crypto schemes, or links to other services.
- No sex work, escort services or "sponsor" arrangements.
Keep it safe and legal
- No violence, threats of violence or content that encourages people to hurt themselves or others.
- No illegal drugs, weapons or anything else that breaks Kenyan law.
- No content that sexualises anyone under 18. We remove it at once, close the account and report it to the authorities.
Respect privacy
- Do not post other people's phone numbers, addresses, workplaces, photos or chats without their permission.
- Screenshots of private chats stay private, unless you are sending them to us as part of a report.
Reporting
If something is not right, tap Report on the profile, message, moment or story. Reporting also blocks the person by default, so they cannot see you or write to you again. Reports are private: the other person is not told who reported them. A real person on our team reviews every report.
If someone is in danger, call the police on 999 or 112 first.
What happens if rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, give a warning, pause the account while we look into it, or close it for good. Scams, threats, content involving minors and sharing intimate images lead to an immediate ban, and we may pass information to the police. If you think we made a mistake about your account, email hello@moyomatch.com and someone will look again.
